DREAM EVIL Parts Ways With Guitarist, Announces Replacement
December 11, 2007Swedish metallers DREAM EVIL have issued the following update:
"So what happened in the DREAM EVIL camp the last six months? For family reasons our lead guitarist Mark Black unfortunately left the band and we now have a new (hairy and scary) axe swinger called Dannee Demon (aka Daniel Varghamne).
"DREAM EVIL will release a CD with some new songs and some old songs (which earlier only have been released as bonus tracks in Japan) combined with a live DVD recorded November 25, 2006 in Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg. The preliminary release date is now set to March/April 2008. The album will be called 'Gold Medal In Metal'.
"We are all working in our metal factories on making new splendid unbloody serious farmer metal anthems that hopefully will show up on our next studio album. We also hope that the upcoming live shows section will be filled with gigs in the near future near you."
Fan-filmed video footage of DREAM EVIL's performance at this year's installment of the Elsrock Festival, which was held August 25 in Rijssen, The Netherlands, can be viewed below.
DREAM EVIL's latest CD, "United", hit the Swedish official album chart at position #24, the Swedish metal chart at #3 as well as the Greek album chart at position #41.
On December 13, 2006 DREAM EVIL made its U.S. live debut when it headlined the Century Family's third annual Christmas Balls show at The Key Club in Hollywood.
"United" was recorded at Sweden's famed Studio Fredman with DREAM EVIL guitarist and legendary producer Fredrik Nordström (ARCH ENEMY, OPETH, AT THE GATES). The limited-edition first pressing of "United" includes a bonus second CD containing five exclusive, brand new songs.
